Weight Loss Tools: MyFitnessPal

Can I make a confession? I hate to keep track of my meals. I detest a food journal. Counting calories exhausts me. Measuring food portions makes me feel restricted. Guess what? I have to get over it. I cannot eat whatever I want, whenever I want. This makes me ANGRY.

If I am going to be successful at this whole lifestyle change, I have to do things I do not like. This means tracking every single morsel of food that goes in my mouth. If I have to do it, I might as well find a system that I like. As for me, that means it has to be easy, quick and do the math for me. I don’t have time to spend counting calories or keeping track of fat grams. I am betting that you don’t either. I found an app called Myfitnesspal. It has been a lifesaver. I use my phone to track my meals, snacks, water intake and exercise. I can enter in my weight and my body measurements and this app takes care of tracking my progress for me. Easy, quick and above all else: convenient. The best part though, for this angry chick-it is FREE!

I use Myfitnesspal every single day. So does the angry fat guy. It holds us accountable to ourselves and each other. When I don’t lose weigh I can look back and see any trends or habits that may have seeped in without my noticing.

You can use Myfitnesspal from your phone, tablet, laptop or PC. I will confess though-I like using my phone best. You can scan food labels and it automatically fills in all of the nutritional data.
